Rubi Tuesday and other Thoughts

Rubi is 7 months old now and 59 pounds of dog. She has just had her stitches removed from spaying. She also developed cherry eye so we had that fixed as well.It is so nice to see her beautiful face again without that swollen eye-I do hope it holds. Her and Stelle are steadfast friends now and one worries when the other is not around for any period of time. Rubi is still quite willful-a work in progress I guess. The rotti in her is showing quite a bit-she talks all the time but still has the english bulldog swagger to her walk. We keep saying we will have to put a hula skirt on that wiggle.I have still not done her portrait but plan to soon-been busy with other things and I do not know where this month has gone.Bye for now,CarlaRubi Tuesday

Birds are important too-and other thoughts

I have recently begun to paint more birds. They are an important part of our lives when we are lucky enough to share our lives with them.So beautiful and intelligent. This is a portrait of Gracie-an African Grey-such a beauty! We as humans are so lucky to have these in our lives-so unlike dogs and cats but very much family all the same.I do hope to paint many more of them, bye for now,CarlaPortrait of Gracie

A new year and other thoughts

it is hard to believe that it is 2013-we survived the end of the world that was forcast for last year. Good-we need more time on this planet! We need to take more time to fix the wrongs and learn how not to do those things anymore, Uppermost on my list is how we treat our pets and other animal friends-we do need to do better there.I am fortunate-in my pet portrait business I deal only with people who love there pets-that is our common bond and I strive to do my very best for these people.I have been doing more canvas works these past months and I really enjoy that medium more and more. I am also doing more multiple pet portraits-so many of us share our hearts and homes with more that one.I am enjoying my time raising little Rubi-she is still a handful but a work in progress-more on her down the road. I want to wish all of you a very happy new year and I hope you will join me in hoping for better things for the animals and birds we share this planet with, bye for now,CarlaPortrait of Cats
