Marketing Blog

Starting this past year, we began putting up one or two entries each month on the MyArtClub.Com Marketing blog, each designed to encourage and help you make the most of your internet marketing efforts.

The Art Marketer`s blog can be found at http://www.myartblog.ca. The focus of these entries is on your art customers – how to reach and engage them. This research blog is intended to assist all artists to save effort and time by summarizing current business tips, trends and ideas.

Below, we provide a brief summary and links to let you easily delve deeper. Keep this handy as you plan your art business for 2012.

The MyArtClub.Com Webmaster’s support blog focuses on your website and can be found at http://www.myartclub.com/blog. The purpose of these entries is to introduce new tools to increase your internet art marketing capability, and to explain how to use your site to best advantage. This support blog is intended to give you step by step assistance on your MyArtClub.Com website activities. In addition, this support blog is used to alert artists about exhibit opportunities and other messages of business interest.

The nice thing about a blog is that it is always there for your easy reference. We hope that this will become a handy source for you, and welcome your requests for specific topics.

For your convenience, we have republished our more frequently asked support questions as blog entries.

Going Social

We have linked with Facebook and Twitter in two ways: one that you can use and the second that features your work on our accounts.

a) Posting to your own Facebook and/or Twitter account.
If you have a Facebook account or a Twitter account, you can register your accounts on your marketing page on your member site and then when you post your art to your website, you can post a thumbnail of your art and a message to either or both your Facebook and Twitter accounts at the same time, allowing you to keep up with the social network without having to visit these other sites to post your updates. See the links above in our support section for details of how to use this new feature.

b) MyArtClub.Com has created two social sites, one on Facebook and the other on Twitter.
The Facebook site at http://ww.facebook.com/MyArtClubCom reintroduces a feature that was previously on our main page – the featured artist. Every couple of days we post an entry on our Facebook page with a featured work of art as well as post the artist promotion text which you entered on your basic artist information page on the site where you maintain your art site. If you have registered your Facebook page with us (see following section) then we also post a link to your Facebook page as well as back to your site on MyArtClub.Com. We provide a thumbnail of your featured art work.

The Twitter site at http://twitter.com/MyArtClubCom provides a tweet of the latest art works or blogs added to the MyArtClub.Com site periodically throughout the day. The tweets feature a work for each of the artists that have uploaded a work of art or posted a blog in the preceding period. The tweet shows a thumbnail of the posted work along with the title of the work and the artist and a link back to the work on the artist’s site.

If you want to keep up to date with recent works being posted on MyArtClub.Com, then following us at http://twitter.com/MyArtClubCom is a great way to stay in touch.

Google Analytics

Google provides the ability for you to track the web visitors to a more detailed level than is provided by the MyArtClub.Com site. All you need to start tracking your visitors with the Google Analytics is a Google account. Google offers in depth and fascinating view of your website visitors’ traffic for free. And there is no need to include the tracking pieces in your site. We have included that code already. All you need to do is enter your Google tracking number. See the link above in our support blog section for details of how to use this new feature.

Taking your site mobile

With so many people now online via their Smartphone, MyArtClub.Com has launched mobile websites for artists. The mobile website adjusts your site so that images are presented in a vertical format so your site can be scrolled through up and down without having to scan back and forth. All artists and art groups using a personalized web address on MyArtClub.Com now have this capability. Just add “/m” to your web address. See the link in our support blog section above for the details of this new feature.

What`s next in 2012

Check back with our blog pages for announcements of new features in the coming year. Some of the things we are working on are: presenting our pages in HTML5 and CSS3, new features of the web that allow you to present your video and audio clips directly in your site; more control over the look and feel of your site; some new templates to show your art and blogs. We welcome your suggestions for other features and functionality that we should be considering.

Well that is it for the December 2011 update. I hope you can see by this that we are very active and most interested in helping artists achieve the success they want.

If you have ideas or questions please let us know at Webmaster@MyArtClub.Com.
